Grateful for the birth of our Savior

Today during sharing time, I was explaining about the birth of Christ being foretold by multiple prophets. As we were singing songs about Christmas, I began to be so grateful for Mary and Joseph. Joseph for being so careful and caring to Mary as well as Mary for being so patient and willing to do what was asked of her. There are so many things that are asked of us and I don't know if I can be patient and ungrumbling when things are tough. I cannot imagine riding a donkey many, many miles to go to be taxed. I can't imagine eating warm goat cheese and hard bread for sustenance, and I can't imagine giving birth in a stable with no pain medications.

What an example for all women. Mary, the Mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving with Family

We were able to go to Utah this year to be with family there. We had a fun filled weekend with Thanksgiving dinner, a bunco tournament and the planning of Friday shopping. This year we were slackers and didn't go out until 4am. We were able to get all of our shopping done but two presents. YEA us! Oaklee went and played with Kylee on Friday while Marlee, Amanda, Wayne, Grandma and Sydnee went and saw Twilight again. I took a nap while Noah played Guitar Hero. He was pretty good at it. Maybe Santa was watching and got him one for Christmas. Saturday, we went and looked at Christmas lights and Wayne took Marlee to Temple Square for bonding time while the rest of us played Don't Eat Pete. Crazy game!

We came home on Sunday but can't wait to go back.

Teens at Twilight

Marlee, Sara, John and I went to see Twilight today. I thought it was pretty good. I think because I read the book so long ago, I couldn't remember if it followed it to a tee. We had a blast. Thank you Sara for getting us the tickets.

I love the Primary

Last week was our Primary Program at church. I had to introduce the theme to begin the program. It was I am a Child of God. I am so glad that we have been teaching them that all year. It can help them throughout their whole life. I have been learning that this year also.

I love serving in the Primary. The kids are amazing. They make me feel closer to my Heavenly Father and I pray to see them as he sees them. We have a few kids who have disabilities and they were so good. It was true, we are all children of God.

I'm back

Well, I got a little bit behind about blogging. I just let it overwhelm me and avoided it like I do a lot of things, like exercise, clean my house etc. I know that I should just jump back in and do it. I have decided that I am going to be more faithful at this.

I will update you on what has happened since my last post.

September- We finished with Marlee's school volleyball, Noah's football and Oaklee's cheer. I went to Utah with my sister Amanda to the Scrapbook expo. It was so fun and I love it.

October -- We went to a pumpkin patch at Thanksgiving Point in Utah. I was able to park in the spot reserved for ladies who haven't shaved their legs this week. I knew there was a reason that I never do this.

The kids and I went to St. George with my mom and Amanda to watch my cousin Kay run the St. George Marathon. She made it a goal to run for her 50th birthday. Her son Jason ran the last two miles with her. It was so amazing watching all the people run in. Some could barely make it and we were cheering them on, some had to be helped in.

My friend Valerie loves to embarass people for her birthday. She made me wear a coconut bra and party hat and break a pinata in a park with a million people watching. We dressed her up as a 80's party girl and took her to Texas Roadhouse and then for a limo ride around the city. Check out my friend Leslie's blog to see the pictures.

Halloween was fun. Marlee was a drama queen, complete with sash and tiara. Noah was a pirate --argh! Oaklee was so cute. She had this horse and cowgirl hat. She proclaimed herself Oaklee Annie!

November is our relaxing month. I can't wait to see my family at Thanksgiving. We will be in Utah.

First day of school

The kids started school this week. Marlee is in 8th grade. Noah (who is thrilled) started 5th grade and Oaklee is in 1st grade. Yea for Mom and Good Luck teachers!

Noah's football team played at BSU. They did a great job and tied. Oaklee cheered for his team.

The week before school started, Allen and Marian Cutler's family came to visit from Virginia. We went to the fair.

We got to Salt Lake about 11pm. Marlee was dying because the new book for the Twilight series was coming out at midnight. Wayne took her to Barnes and Noble and there were a million people that they could not get in. They went to the closest Walmart and the line was all around the store. They came home bookless and Marlee was in tears. My mom and I decided we were on a conquest. We loaded up the car with Marlee and were determined to find that book. We got it about 12:30 at another Walmart. As you can tell, Marlee was thrilled. Thanks Mom for being such a trooper and loving your granddaughter so much to go out in the middle of the night. She has read it six times now.

It was my 20 year Reunion. We had a great time getting to talk to friends from high school. It was great.

My dad came to take us on our annual National Park Road Trip. We left on Sunday and came home on Thursday. A lot of pictures were taken and a lot of fun was had.
